The zabuton meditation mat is a rectangular meditation cushion that provides cushioning and support during your meditation practices. It can be used alone, or with a zafu meditation pillow on top.
Our zippered zabuton covers allow you to replace a damaged cover or interchange the look of your zabuton flat mat without buying a new insert.
Ikat: Traditional Textile Dyeing
Ikat is a traditional textile dyeing technique where the threads are dyed before they are woven into fabric. In this process, sections of the yarns are tightly bound with a resistant material (like wax or string) to prevent them from absorbing dye. After the dyeing process, the bindings are removed, and the threads are woven into patterns.
The resulting fabric often has a distinctive, slightly blurry or feathered pattern because the dyed areas do not perfectly align during weaving.
